Does this craigslist buyer sound like a scam?

Yes, this is DEFINITELY a scam. The fact they wish to use intermediaries for ANY part of the transaction is your first clue. The fact they claim to be satisfied with the condition of an item they have never seen should be all the proof you need. The Cashier's check WILL be a counterfeit, but YOUR bank will not be able to tell that until AFTER you ship the item. That is unless you tell them what you told us. In that case, they will tell you what I just told you without even looking at the check.
