I have an idea for a topic for the Social Science Fair, but need help fixing it...?

I was going to do the project on Nepal and how it's a third world country. But my teacher said that it's to broad. What can i do to narrow it down but still have the idea i wanted. or should i just do it on the economy or religion? but i really want it stick to how it's one of the poorest countries and how they are surviving.
