Friend considering BK, what is a fair cost in IA?

Attny wants $1200 for BK.They have no other debt besides a USDA Rural Land loan which went bad only months after closing on the deal. FHA backed the deal and all closing costs were rolled in for around $50k. Home foreclosed, resold by same agent for $30k, friend is now being hounded for repayment of the $20k+ deficiency judgement. Any thoughts?
